Air Richelieu College programs DCS – Aircraft Piloting

Obtaining a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) means:

Completing the most comprehensive and rigorous training possible, combining hours of specific flight training and hours of general training, and developing all the professional skills required by the largest airlines.

This diploma, issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur, meets the highest standards of the aeronautics market. It allows future graduates to get their Airline Transport Pilot Licence (frozen ATPL) issued by Transport Canada.

  • Instrument Rating (IR)/Multi-Engine Rating (ME)
  • Multi-Crew Coordination (MCC)
  • Airline Transport Pilot Licence (SARON and SAMRA) (FROZEN ATPL)

Canadian students who are accepted into this program may be eligible for funding, provided they meet the criteria.

Knowledge & skills

Upon completing their training, graduates will be able to act as first officer on commercial aircraft or as pilot-in-command on aircraft weighing less than 12,500 pounds.

They will be able to work for different types of airlines, to transport people or cargo in Quebec, in Canada or in other countries.

To be eligible for the program, students must meet the general conditions of admission set out in the College Education Regulations and, if applicable, the following specific conditions:

Have successfully completed these high school courses:

  1. Sec. V TS or NS: Secondary V technical science or natural sciences and math option
  2. Sec. V physics: Secondary V physics
  3. Meet the medical requirements set out in the Canadian Aviation Regulations—Part IV, Standard 424.

The Diploma of College Studies (DCS) issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur is the only diploma that can give you access to permanent residence through the PEQ (Quebec Experience Program).
